Chosen’s Cafe - Balantian, Valencia
Chosen's Cafe is a scenic cafe located in Sitio Balantian, Valencia, Negros Oriental. The neighboring mountains are so majestic that you can take awesome pictures even just by using your own phone in your pocket. You can choose from a variety of coffee beans such as arabica blends and robusta blends. They also offer native delicacy named "nilusak na saging". A tasty delicacy made from banana fruits. The prices of their products are very affordable which is a good thing for travelers who are having a tight budget. The temperature around the area is really cool since it is more elevated compared to the other parts of Valencia.
The panoramic view in the location can give you perfect shots and it really seems that the place isn't just inside Valencia because of its features that are comparable to other countries' tourist destinations. It is indeed easier for you to capture awesome photographs in this lush ever green surroundings. The building is made out of indigenous material as well, having a native theme. The building consists of two floors and is filled with decorations and arts. It is a great place to hang out and chill out for some time while experiencing cold breeze of air.
The cafe's name is from the owner's last name which is "Pinili'. When translated into the English language, it means "chosen".
How to get there?
To get here, you may ride a "habal-habal" from the town market of Valencia. It would take 30-40 minutes. It is preferred to use a motorcycle. You will pass the Sulfur Vents in Malaunay, Valencia first, and travel through the roads heading to the left side. Ask some guidance from the locals as they are very hospitable and willing to help you.
